Ava Griffiths, LCSW-R
I’m Ava Griffiths, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I specialize in working with Black women who are high-functioning, driven, and often carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders.
I understand the unique pressures and expectations that come with navigating professional success, personal growth, and cultural identity. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, meditation, and intentional support, helping Black women honor their feelings, redefine limiting narratives, and reclaim their power.
Through my work, I focus on creating safe, empowering spaces where you can:
Find solace in a therapist who mirrors your experiences while offering honest feedback, accountability, and guidance
Explore and express emotions without judgment
Identify and challenge societal stereotypes, including the “Angry Black Woman” trope
Cultivate resilience, clarity, and alignment with your personal and professional life
I combine my clinical expertise with a lived understanding of the challenges Black women face, offering guidance that is practical, affirming, and transformative. My goal is to help you step into your brilliance unapologetically, while finding balance, peace, and strength along the way.
Because you deserve to thrive — not just survive.
“When the deepest part of you becomes engaged in what you are doing, when your activities and actions become gratifying and purposeful, when what you do serves both yourself and others, when you do not tire within but seek the sweet satisfaction of your life and your work, you are doing what you were meant to be doing.”
